USACFC Inclusivity Policies

Dear Students, Coaches, and Community Members,

As we prepare for the upcoming year, we would like to provide an important update regarding our Inclusivity Policies and how we are navigating recent changes made by USA Fencing to its Transgender & Non-Binary Athlete Eligibility Policy in response to the recent executive order.

USACFC has always aspired to be an inclusive organization that allows students to participate in the sport in a way that makes them the most comfortable and brings them joy. We have every intention to continue to uphold these guidelines and to continue to make our tournament a place where students can be their authentic selves without the risk of invasive requirements to prove or disprove whether they have the right to fence.

In light of the new executive order, which impacts not only National Governing Bodies such as USA Fencing but also public schools, universities, and private institutions receiving federal funding under Title IX, the Board is consulting with legal counsel to determine the best course of action for our organization.

As part of this process, we will seek input from our membership through a poll in late August outlining potential paths forward, including possible adjustments to the structure of the USACFC Championships. While this will not constitute an official vote, the Board values the perspectives of our community and wishes to gather as much feedback as possible before making any final decisions. We anticipate sharing the results, along with our final decision and the 2025–2026 membership form, in mid-September.

For member schools from the 2024–2025 season, you will remain eligible for USA Fencing club membership and 50 Access Memberships for club members in the 2025–2026 season. Separate instructions for redeeming these benefits will be sent via email this week.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and engagement as we work through this together.

Sincerely,
The USACFC Board
